Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Mobile Learning Berbasis Etnosains untuk Meningkatkan Literasi Sains Siswa SMP

Abstract

Rendahnya literasi sains siswa menjadi salah satu permasalahan utama dalam pembelajaran IPA dikarenakan proses pembelajaran masih didominasi metode konvensional yang bersifat abstrak dan kurang kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif mobile learning berbasis etnosains untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model 4D yakni Define, Design, Develop, Diseminate. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII di SMP Islam Diponegoro Surakarta yang berjumlah 20 anak. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar angket dan lembar tes literasi sains. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Media pembelajaran interaktif mobile learning berbasis etnosains memiliki kriteria valid dengan nilai validasi sebesar 4,59, 2) Media pembelajaran interaktif mobile learning berbasis etnosains serta efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi sains siswa dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,67, 3) Media pembelajaran interaktif mobile learning berbasis etnosains memiliki kriteria praktis dengan rerata respon positif sebesar 3,65. Temuan ini memperkuat pentingnya integrasi budaya lokal dalam pengembangan media digital di sekolah menengah. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan memiliki kualitas baik dan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran.

The low scientific literacy of students is one of the main problems in science learning because the learning process is still dominated by conventional methods that are abstract and less contextual. This study aims to develop interactive learning media for mobile learning based on ethnoscience to improve students' scientific literacy. This research is a development research using the 4D model, namely Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. The subjects of this study were 20 students of grade VII at SMP Islam Diponegoro Surakarta. The research instruments used in this study were questionnaires and scientific literacy test sheets. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that 1) The interactive learning media for mobile learning based on ethnoscience has valid criteria with a validation value of 4.59, 2) The interactive learning media for mobile learning based on ethnoscience is also effective in improving students' scientific literacy with an N-gain value of 0.67, 3) The interactive learning media for mobile learning based on ethnoscience has practical criteria with an average positive response of 3.65. These findings reinforce the importance of integrating local culture in the development of digital media in secondary schools. Therefore, it can be concluded that the media developed has good quality and is suitable for use as a learning medium.
