DESCRIPTION OF CHEMISTRY TEACHER UNDERSTANDING REGARDING STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) LEARNING APPROACH FOR ONLINE LEARNING IN CLASS X SMA PRADITA DIRGANTARA

Abstract

This research aims to discover: (1) Whether STEAM learning approach has been performed well at even semester of 2020/2021 academic year, and (2) The implementation of STEAM which was done by chemistry teacher of class X SMA Pradita Dirgantara. This research is considered as Qualitative Research which is carried out in two stages. The first stage was to fill the provided questionnaire to the respondent, then the second stage was doing an interview session. This subject was chemistry teacher of class X SMA Pradita Dirgantara at 2020/2021 academic year. Data source were gathered from teacher and literature review. Data gathering technique were done using questionnaire and interview. Data analysis technique was carried out using descriptive analysis technique. The results of this research indicated that: 1) Based on the questionnaire filled by the respondent, it is evident that chemistry teacher of class X SMA Pradita Dirgantara has performed STEAM learning approach very well, with 25 points of “SS” (“strongly agree”) answers, and 10 points of “S” (“agree”) answers, and (2) The interview results analysis showed that STEAM learning approach is implemented by class X chemistry teacher of SMA Pradita Dirgantara within the involvement of teachers in different subjects. Students will be given the project-based as the main task, as well as designing products at the end of learning results.
