Peer Review Process

The scientific publishing process employs the peer review process to ensure that only high-quality articles are published. This is a standardized and objective practice adopted by all leading scientific journals, including the PAEDAGOGIA Educational Research Journal, where our dedicated reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards. The process begins with an initial manuscript evaluation by our editors, who thoroughly scrutinize each submission for originality, scientific accuracy, language quality, and relevance to the journal's scope. Manuscripts that meet the criteria are then forwarded to a minimum of two expert reviewers for further review.

The type of Peer Review used in PAEDAGOGIA Educational Research Journal is a single-blind review, where the Reviewer remains unaware of the author's identity during the review process.

Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and research history. PAEDAGOGIA Educational Research Journal has competent peer reviewers who have a research track record and expertise in their respective fields, from more than 10 leading universities in Indonesia.

Reviewers report their findings and are asked to evaluate whether:

  • The article is original
  • It is methodologically sound
  • It follows the appropriate guidelines
  • It presents clear results that support the conclusions
  • It uses relevant references

Language correction is not part of the review process, but the Copy Editor will determine whether the accepted article requires grammar correction. Reviewers can suggest corrections if needed.

How long does the review process take?

The time needed for the review process depends on the Reviewer's response. If there are conflicting reports from the Reviewers, further expert opinions (a third Reviewer) will be sought. At this stage, the Editor has the authority to accept, reject, or request revisions from the author based only on the results of the first, second, and third Reviewer reports. The Editor's decision will be sent to the author with recommendations made by the Reviewers, which usually include verbatim comments by the Reviewer. The revised manuscript may be returned to the initial Reviewer, who may then request further revisions. Reviewers also fill out a review form to provide an overview of the review conducted.

Final Report: The final decision to accept or reject the manuscript will be sent to the author along with recommendations made by the Reviewer, which may include comments from the Reviewer.
