Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terintegrasi STEM terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis pada Materi Ekologi dan Keanekaragaman Hayati Indonesia SMP
Abstract
Tujuan dari studi ini yaitu mengkaji dampak penggunaan model Problem Based Learning terintegrasi STEM terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis pada topik Ekologi dan Keanekaragaman Hayati Indonesia. Desain penelitian yang diterapkan yaitu eksperimen semu dipadukan dengan model pretest-posttest control group. Populasi penelitian meliputi keseluruhan siswa pada jenjang kelas 7 SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Pemilihan sampel dilaksanakan dengan metode cluster random sampling, dimana kelas 7D selaku kelas kontrol sedangkan untuk kelas 7C selaku kelas eksperimen. Pelaksanaan pengambilan data meliputi dokumentasi dan tes keterampilan berpikir kritis yang meliputi pretest-posttest. Selanjutnya, data dianalisis dengan pelaksanaan uji hipotesis dan uji N-Gain pada tingkat signifikansi 0,05. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa pelaksanaan model Problem Based Learning dengan pendekatan STEM mempunyai dampak yang cukup besar pada peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, dengan tingkat signifikansi (0,006 < 0,05). Nilai peningkatan pada kelas eksperimen adalah 0,52 (kategori sedang) sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol adalah 0,27, yang termasuk rendah. Sehingga, temuan studi ini membuktikan penerapan Problem Based Learning dengan pengintegrasian STEM menunjukkan pengaruh pada perkembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis di tingkat SMP.
The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of the use of the STEM integrated Problem Based Learning model on critical thinking skills on the topic of Ecology and Biodiversity of Indonesia. The research design applied was a pseudo-experiment combined with a pretest-posttest control group model. The research population includes all students at the 7th grade level of SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat for the 2024/2025 school year. Sample selection was carried out by cluster random sampling method, where class 7D was the control class while class 7C was the experimental class. The implementation of data collection includes documentation and critical thinking skills tests which include pre-posttest. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by performing a hypothesis test and an N-Gain test at a significance level of 0.05. The results of the analysis showed that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model with the STEM approach had a considerable impact on improving students' critical thinking skills, with a significance level (0.006 < 0.05). The value of the increase in the experimental class was 0.52 (medium category) while for the control class it was 0.27, which was considered low. Thus, the findings of this study prove that the application of Problem Based Learning with STEM integration shows an influence on the development of critical thinking skills at the junior high school level.
