How Effective Is The Discovery Learning Model For Improving Mathematics Learning Outcomes For Elementary School Students In Klaten Regency, Indonesia?

Abstract

This research aims to measure the effectiveness of implementing the Discovery Learning learning model in mathematics learning at the elementary school level. It’s was conducted at Cawan Elementary School, Klaten Regency. To achieve the research objectives, the research method applied is classroom action research. The data collection technique is a written test of individual learning outcomes. The instrument used is a question in the form of multiple choices consisting of 4 choice options. The results of this research show: (1) The average student mathematics learning outcome in cycle I was 52.17 with a pass rate of 34.78%. (2) The average student mathematics learning result in cycle II was 74.35 with a pass rate of 91.30%. (3). The increase in student mathematics learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II was 56.52%. The application of the Discovery Learning learning model is effective in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes at the elementary school level.
