Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 03 Pereng by using the experimental method in learning science. This research method is classroom action research (CAR) conducted at SD Negeri 03 Pereng. The research subjects were fifth grade students at SD Negeri 03 Pereng, totaling 24 students consisting of 13 female students and 11 male students. The research was conducted in 2 cycles. The results showed that student learning outcomes increased by using the experimental method in learning science for class V SD Negeri 03 Pereng. From the results of the analysis in this study it can be concluded that student learning outcomes in the initial conditions based on the observations were 50%. After being given the first cycle of action, students' interest in learning increased to 62.5%. In this first cycle, student learning outcomes are mostly still low. From cycle I, the completeness criterion is still lacking, the completeness criterion is 75%. Therefore, it was continued in the next cycle, in this second cycle, student learning outcomes increased by 100%. Cycle II is mostly high student learning outcomes. The results of the second cycle of completeness criteria were achieved so that the next cycle was not carried out.
