IMPROVING MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM SOLVING SKILL THROUGH THE APPLICATION COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL OF THINK TALK WRITE (TTW) TYPE IN STUDENT GRADE V ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (Classroom Action Research on Grade V Students of SD N Pajang 2 No. 171 Surakarta 2017/2018
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to improve math problem solving skill through the implementation of cooperative learning model of Think Talk Write (TTW) type in grade V students of SD N Surakarta. Research subjects are researchers and 40 students of grade V SD N Surakarta. Techniques of collecting data conducted are any observation techniques, interviews, tests, and documentation. Validity of data used is the content validity, source triangulation, and triangulation technique. Based on the results of research indicate that the average pre-action value equal to 52,7 with classical completeness 22,50%, increase in cycle I equal to 72,73 with classical completeness 67,50%, and increase again 80,5 with classical thoroughness 90 %. Based on the data it can be concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model type Think-Talk-Write (TTW) can improve the skills of solving mathematics problems on the students of grade V SD N Surakarta academic year 2017/2018.
