Abstract

The implementation of the Know Your Customer (KYC) principle by customer service at Bank Woori Saudara KCP Sragen is an important instrument in preventing money laundering and terrorism financing. This research aims to describe the implementation of the KYC principle, identify the factors influencing it, and analyze its relationship with banking risk control. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection through observation, documentation, and interviews, as well as data analysis using the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that KYC is implemented through five stages: identification, verification, CDD dan EDD, transaction monitoring, and reporting of suspicious transactions, contributing to controlling operational, legal, and reputational risks. Supporting factors include customer service quality, adequate technology, and security collaboration, while inhibiting factors include uncooperative customers, delayed identity updates, damaged identity cards, and customer surges at the beginning of the month. It is recommended that the bank improve customer education, utilize digital channels for data updates, develop alternative procedures for damaged identity cards, and separate transaction lanes during peak periods.
