The Journal of Applied Economics in Developing Countries (JAEDC) is committed to ensuring that research involving human participants or individual-level data is conducted in accordance with applicable ethical principles, institutional requirements, and relevant regulations. This policy applies, where relevant, to studies involving surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, experiments, or the collection and analysis of personal or identifiable data.
Authors are expected to obtain ethical approval or clearance from an appropriate ethics committee or authorized institution when required. Where applicable, authors must state in the manuscript that ethical approval or clearance and informed consent were obtained. Where formal ethical approval or informed consent is not required or a study is exempt, authors should state this in the manuscript and provide an appropriate justification based on applicable institutional, legal, or ethical requirements. Authors are also responsible for protecting participants' privacy, confidentiality, and rights. JAEDC may request information or documentation regarding ethical approval, informed consent, or an applicable exemption when necessary to assess the ethical conduct of a manuscript. Concerns regarding ethical oversight or participant protection will be handled in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics policy.
