The Journal of Applied Economics in Developing Countries (JAEDC) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of the published scholarly record. The journal provides mechanisms for addressing substantive scholarly comments, correcting errors, and taking appropriate action when concerns arise regarding the reliability or integrity of published articles.
Post-publication matters are handled in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics, Allegation of Research Misconduct, and Complaints and Appeals policies, as applicable, and relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Post-Publication Discussion
JAEDC welcomes constructive, evidence-based comments and scholarly discussion concerning articles published in the journal. Readers and researchers may submit substantive comments, questions, or concerns through the journal's official communication channel at jaedc@mail.uns.ac.id.
The Editor will assess the relevance and significance of the submission and may request supporting evidence or clarification from the parties concerned. Where appropriate, the authors of the original article will be given an opportunity to respond. The Editor may consider publishing the discussion and response when they offer meaningful scholarly contributions and meet the journal's editorial standards.
2. Corrections
JAEDC may publish a correction when an error in a published article affects the accuracy, interpretation, or understanding of the work but does not invalidate its principal findings or conclusions.
Reported errors will be assessed by the Editor based on their nature, significance, and potential effect on the published record. Where a correction is warranted, the journal will publish a separate correction notice identifying the affected article, describing the error, and specifying the correction. The correction notice will be linked to the original article where technically feasible.
3. Expressions of Concern
An Expression of Concern may be issued when credible information raises substantial questions about the reliability, integrity, or ethical conduct of a published article, but the available evidence is insufficient to justify an immediate correction or retraction.
The Editor may issue an Expression of Concern while further assessment or investigation is ongoing, including when clarification from the authors, relevant experts, or affiliated institutions is required. The notice will identify the affected article and explain the nature of the concern to the extent appropriate. Further action may be taken when additional evidence becomes available.
4. Retractions
JAEDC may retract a published article when reliable evidence indicates that its findings or conclusions are substantially unreliable, or when serious research or publication misconduct or other significant ethical violations undermine the integrity of the publication.
Retraction decisions are made by the Editor based on the available evidence and, where necessary, additional expert assessment or institutional investigation. A retraction notice will identify the affected article and explain the reason for the retraction. The notice will be linked to the original article, which will remain accessible where appropriate and be clearly marked as retracted to preserve the transparency of the scholarly record.
Editorial Assessment and Transparency
All post-publication concerns and proposed corrective actions are assessed fairly and on the basis of available evidence. Depending on the circumstances, the Editor may consult independent experts, request clarification from the authors, or seek information from relevant institutions.
JAEDC aims to handle post-publication matters confidentially, impartially, and without unnecessary delay. Decisions concerning corrections, Expressions of Concern, and retractions will be documented and communicated to relevant parties as appropriate. These procedures are intended to protect the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.
