Data Availability

The Journal of Applied Economics in Developing Countries (JAEDC) is committed to promoting transparency, research integrity, and reproducibility. Authors are required to include a Data Availability Statement in every submitted manuscript, explaining whether and how the data supporting the findings of their research can be accessed.

The Data Availability Statement must be included in the manuscript in accordance with the Author Guidelines. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the statement accurately reflects the availability, ownership, and access conditions of the data used in their research.

Data Availability Requirements

Authors should make the data supporting their findings available whenever legally, ethically, and practically possible. Where appropriate, datasets should be deposited in a recognized data repository that provides a stable link or persistent identifier, such as a Digital Object Identifier (DOI).

If data cannot be made publicly available, authors must explain the applicable restrictions and, where possible, describe the conditions under which qualified researchers may request access.

Authors should address the following circumstances, as applicable:

  1. Publicly Available Data

Authors must identify the repository, database, official source, or publication from which the data can be accessed and provide the relevant URL or DOI, where available.

  2. Data Deposited in a Repository

Authors should provide the repository name and a persistent link or DOI to the deposited dataset. Where applicable, supporting documentation, codebooks, or other relevant materials may also be provided.

  3. Data Available upon Reasonable Request

Authors must identify the corresponding author or responsible institution from which the data may be requested and explain any applicable access conditions. Such statements should reflect a genuine ability to provide access, subject to relevant legal, ethical, and institutional requirements.

  4. Restricted or Confidential Data

Authors must explain why the data cannot be made publicly available, including any applicable legal, contractual, institutional, privacy, or confidentiality restrictions. Where permitted, authors may describe the process for requesting authorized access.

  5. No New Data Generated or Analyzed

Manuscripts that do not involve the generation or analysis of research data should include a statement explaining that no new data were generated or analyzed, where this accurately reflects the study.

  6. Review Articles

Authors of review articles should identify the sources of the literature reviewed and describe the availability of any additional materials
