Journal History

Indonesian Journal of Applied Statistics (IJAS) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Statistics Study Program, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta, Indonesia. The journal was established in 2018 as a platform for disseminating scientific research, methodological developments, and practical applications of statistics across various disciplines.

IJAS was first published in May 2018 (Volume 1, Number 1) and has been published biannually, with regular issues scheduled for May and November. The journal is officially registered with the International Standard Serial Number e-ISSN 2621-086X, issued through the Indonesian ISSN National Centre at the National Library of Indonesia (Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia).

Since its establishment, IJAS has utilized Open Journal Systems (OJS) version 2, developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), as its online journal management and publishing platform. This system supports manuscript submission, editorial management, peer review, and online publication, enabling a structured and transparent editorial workflow. The journal's publications and editorial information are accessible through its official website.

To ensure the accessibility and persistent identification of its published articles, IJAS registers Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) through Crossref. Its registered article metadata can be accessed through the Crossref database using e-ISSN 2621-086X. DOI registration supports reliable article identification, citation linking, and the dissemination of scholarly publications.

Since its establishment, IJAS has focused on publishing original research articles and scientific studies involving statistical methods, statistical modeling, data analysis, and applications of statistics to real-world problems. All submitted manuscripts undergo an editorial evaluation and peer-review process to maintain the scientific quality and integrity of published articles.

As part of its commitment to maintaining publication quality, IJAS was awarded SINTA 3 accreditation by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, under Decree No. 79/E/KPT/2023, dated May 11, 2023. This accreditation is valid for five years, covering publications from Volume 5, Number 1 (2022) through Volume 9, Number 2 (2026). This recognition reflects the journal's commitment to maintaining scientific quality, editorial standards, and publication management.

In its development, IJAS has collaborated with the Forum Pendidikan Tinggi Statistika (FORSTAT) to strengthen its academic network and support the dissemination of statistical research. The journal has also expanded its visibility through various academic indexing and discovery services, including SINTA, GARUDA, Google Scholar, Dimensions, and Crossref.

IJAS remains committed to providing an accessible and reliable publication platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners, while continuously improving its editorial standards and contribution to the development of applied statistics.
