The Development STEM-based Students’ Worksheets to Foster Collaborative Skills in Biology Learning

Abstract


Mastery of 21st-century skills is essential to prepare students to adapt and compete in an era of globalization and technological advancement. One of the key skills is collaboration, which includes the ability to work effectively in teams through clear communication and active participation. Preliminary research through questionnaires and observations indicated that students' collaboration skills had not yet reached the optimal level based on the established indicators. This study aims to determine the feasibility of a Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for biology learning in grade XI. The development model used in this study is the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Guntur with a sample of 36 grade XI students selected through random sampling. The results showed that the STEM-based Student Worksheet is highly feasible for use in learning, as evidenced by the feasibility test results: media expert (89%), content expert (81%), methodology expert (91%), biology teacher responses (88%), and student responses (90%). These findings indicate that the developed Student Worksheet is suitable for facilitating students’ collaboration skills in high school biology learning.
