Viralitas Tanpa Validitas: Konsumsi Konten Pengajaran Al Qur'an Di Tiktok Dalam Pembentukan Pemahaman Membaca Al Qur’an Yang Tidak

Abstract

The phenomenon of "instant Islam" on TikTok, referring to the consumption of religious content without deep, critical, and chain-verified (sanad) understanding, has become a serious concern amid Indonesia's 194.37 million young users, with the 18-24 age group as the largest segment. This study aims to analyze the mechanism of parasocial relationships in Qur'anic teaching live streams by a creator identified as BF on TikTok and their impact on adolescents' unverified religious understanding. A qualitative case study method was used, involving digital observation, documentation of audience comments, and online media reports, analyzed through interpretive thematic analysis grounded in parasocial relationship theory and religious authority theory, with source triangulation for data validity. Findings reveal three patterns: tajwid errors were accepted as new knowledge, likes replaced scientific competence as a basis of trust, and audiences failed to recognize the creator's lack of scholarly accountability. The study concludes that parasocial patterns on TikTok risk becoming a systemic factor distorting adolescents' religious understanding rather than a channel for accurate knowledge transmission
