Analisis Kebutuhan Media Flipbook Berbasis Literasi Membaca untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Materi Mengatasi Unsur Intrinsik Cerita pada Murid Kelas V SD

Abstract

Low reading interest among elementary school students affects their ability to understand intrinsic elements of stories. This study aimed to analyze the need for developing flipbook media based on reading literacy for fifth-grade elementary school students. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach involving 19 students and 1 teacher at SDN 2 Candiwulan, Kebumen. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The results showed that students’ reading interest was still low, which affected their difficulties in understanding the intrinsic elements of stories. In addition, the learning media currently used were still limited and tended to be conventional, so the learning process had not run optimally. Meanwhile, the need for digital learning media was in a high category. Therefore, the development of a flipbook based on reading literacy is considered a relevant solution to support more interactive learning. This study concludes that reading literacy-based flipbook media are needed to increase student engagement and help students understand the intrinsic elements of stories more systematically.
