Analisis Kebutuhan Lembar Kerja Murid (LKM) Berbasis Problem Solving untuk Menstimulasi Kemampuan Berkomunikasi Murid Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

Communication is an important 21st-century competency to develop in elementary school students, but students' communication skills in Indonesia are still low, partly due to the suboptimal use of Student Worksheets (LKM). This study aims to analyze the need for problem-solving-based LKM to stimulate elementary school students' communication skills. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with one teacher and six fourth-grade students at a public elementary school in Kebumen District as subjects. Data were collected through interviews and documentation studies, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The analysis results show that teachers need LKM with material that aligns with the Independent Curriculum, clear images and explanations, problem-solving-based questions that train communication, sequential activity steps, easy-to-understand instructions, and an attractive design. Students want LKM close to their lives, easy to understand through images, sequential work steps, an answer column, experiments, and a colorful display. It is concluded that the development of problem-solving-based LKM needs to accommodate the needs of teachers and students to stimulate elementary school students' communication skills.
