Menumbuhkan Sikap Kerja Sama Siswa Sekolah Dasar melalui Kegiatan Kepramukaan Berbasis Barung

Abstract

The reinforcement of the mandatory status of the Scouting extracurricular program through Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation No. 13 of 2025 has made this activity a strategic platform for fostering a spirit of cooperation among elementary school students; however, initial observations in the fourth-grade class at Pabelan 01 Public Elementary School in Kartasura Subdistrict reveal uneven participation, unclear division of tasks, and weak coordination among members. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method involving 15 fourth-grade students, six of whom were purposively selected as interview informants, as well as the Scout leader and the homeroom teacher as supporting informants. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation; their validity was tested through source and technique triangulation; and they were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The research findings show that Scouting activities are held regularly every Saturday in accordance with the Scouting Competency Standards (SKU), Scouting Skill Standards (SKK), and the academic calendar, through hands-on activities, games, and group work; most students participate in task distribution and help one another, although this is not yet entirely equitable. Scout leaders foster cooperation through setting a good example, instilling habits, assigning tasks, providing encouragement, and offering ongoing guidance, while obstacles stem from internal factors (motivation, self-confidence) and external factors (resources, time, weather, parental support). Thus, well-planned, patrol-based Scouting activities are a relevant tool for elementary schools to foster a culture of cooperation, provided that roles are distributed equitably and that students who are still passive receive ongoing guidance.
