Abstract

The integration of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in the Merdeka Curriculum demands optimal learning outcomes. However, there are indications of variations in learning achievement among students, which are often mapped based on their demographic groups. This study aims to analyze the differences in IPAS learning outcomes between male and female fourth-grade elementary school students across Manyaran District in the 2025/2026 Academic Year. This study employed a comparative quantitative approach with a total valid final sample of 296 students. Data collection was conducted through the documentation of final semester examination (UAS) scores. Based on the prerequisite test results, the data were analyzed using the nonparametric Mann-Whitney U test due to non-normal data distribution. The test results showed an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.006 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference in IPAS learning outcomes between the two groups. The female student group obtained a mean rank of 162.45, which is higher than the male student group's 134.92. These findings confirm that gender effectively serves as a grouping variable to capture variations in academic achievement, thereby providing important implications for teachers to implement differentiated learning strategies that accommodate the diversity of students' learning characteristics.
