Problem Based Learning Berbantuan Augmented Reality untuk Mengembangkan Kemampuan Metakognitif pada Materi Sistem Pencernaan Kelas V Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

Metacognitive ability is an important skill that needs to be developed in elementary school students to support an effective learning process. However, students' metacognitive ability is still relatively low due to teacher-centered learning and the use of less interactive media. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Augmented Reality (AR) media on students' metacognitive abilities in the digestive system material for fifth grade elementary school students. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design involving an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using statistical tests. The results showed that students who participated in learning using AR-assisted PBL had better metacognitive abilities than students who participated in conventional learning. Improvements were seen in the aspects of planning, monitoring, and evaluating the thinking process. These findings indicate that the integration of PBL and AR can be an effective learning alternative to develop elementary school students' metacognitive abilities.
