Pengaruh Metode Mendongeng Berbantuan Let’s Read Asia Terhadap Keterampilan Berbicara Siswa Kelas III Sekolah Dasar
Abstract
Speaking skills consist of four interconnected aspects that are used interchangeably in communication, namely pronunciation, intonation, fluency, and comprehension of speech content. However, many teachers have not kept pace with modern advancements and still tend to rely heavily on the lecture method. Consequently, students feel bored during the learning process.
This experimental study utilized a quasi-experimental research design with a Non-Equivalent Control Group design. The population of this study comprised all third-grade students at MIM 01 Payaman. Prior to its application in the study, the research instrument underwent expert and empirical validation, and was subsequently tested for reliability, difficulty level, and item discrimination. The hypothesis testing in this study employed the Independent Sample T-Test, preceded by prerequisite tests, specifically normality and homogeneity tests.
The results of the study indicated a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. The average post-test score of the experimental class (8.5) was higher than that of the control class (7.5). Based on the t-test, the obtained 2-tailed significance values were 0.039 and 0.044 (< 0.05), meaning that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the storytelling method assisted by Lets Read Asia media on the speaking skills of third-grade students at MIM 01 Payaman.Keywords
