STUDI KASUS FATHERLESS: PERAN AYAH DALAM PENGASUHAN ANAK USIA DINI
Abstract
Pentingnya peran ayah dalam pengasuhan anak bukanlah topik yang baru dalan penelitian di seluruh dunia termasuk di Indonesia. Kondisi yang ada di Indonesia, peran ayah dalam pengasuhan belum optimal hal ini dikarenakan masih adanya budaya patriarki bahwa peran pengasuhan menjadi tanggung jawab ibu; adanya pernikahan dini; dan adanya anak yang tidak tinggal bersama orang tua. Hasil observasi awal ditemukan bahwa salah satu kecamatan di Boyolali menunjukkan bahwa tidak adanya kehadiran ayah atau fatherless dalam pengasuhan anak berdampak pada perkembangan anak usia dini. Di daerah ini masih menganut budaya patriarki yang kuat yaitu pengasuhan sepenuhnya merupakan peran ibu dan ayah berperan untuk mencari nafkah. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut, penting dilakukan penelitian untuk mengkaji ketidakhadiran ayah atau fatherless dalam pengasuhan anak usia dini. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah satu anak dari orang tua yang menikah dini di salah satu kecamatan Kota Boyolali. Anak ini berada dalam pengasuhan yang masih menganut budaya patriarki dan orang tua belum matang dalam memberikan pengasuhan kepada anak. Pendekatan strategi studi kasus tunggal digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan secara mendalam fatherless yang ada. Analisis tematik dari hasil wawancara mendalam terhadap orang tua digunakan dalam analisis data penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ayah tidak memiliki peran dalam mengasuh anak, waktu bersama anak sangat minim, dan adanya paham budaya patriarki bahwa pengasuhan anak dilakukan sepenuhnya oleh ibu. Hal ini berdampak pada tidak adanya kelekatan antara anak dengan ayah, tidak optimalnya kemandirian anak, dan adanya gangguan kontrol perilaku anak.
