Implementasi Sistem Among dalam Mengembangkan Kemandirian Anak Usia 4–5 Tahun

ABSTRAK
Kemandirian merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam perkembangan anak usia dini yang perlu ditumbuhkan melalui pendekatan pendidikan yang sesuai dengan karakteristik anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendekatan Sistem Among Ki Hajar Dewantara dalam mengembangkan kemandirian anak usia 4–5 tahun di KB TK Aisyiyah Program Khusus Kottabarat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi pendekatan Sistem Among melalui prinsip Asah, Asih, dan Asuh berkontribusi terhadap perkembangan kemandirian anak dalam aspek pengambilan keputusan, keterampilan mengurus diri, kemampuan memecahkan masalah, serta kemandirian sosial. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap penguatan praktik pendidikan anak usia dini berbasis karakter dan budaya Indonesia yang mengedepankan kebebasan bertanggung jawab, keteladanan, dan pembiasaan positif dalam membentuk sikap mandiri anak sejak dini.

ABSTRACT
Independence is one of the essential aspects of early childhood development that needs to be nurtured through educational approaches suited to the characteristics of children. This study aims to describe the implementation of Ki Hajar Dewantara’s Sistem Among approach in developing the independence of 4–5-year-old children at KB TK Aisyiyah Program Khusus Kottabarat. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the implementation of the Sistem Among approach through the principles of Asah (intellectual stimulation), Asih (affection), and Asuh (positive habituation) contributes significantly to the development of children's independence in decision-making, self-care skills, problem-solving abilities, and social autonomy. This research contributes to the enhancement of early childhood education practices rooted in Indonesian character and cultural values that emphasize responsible freedom, role modeling, and consistent positive routines in shaping children’s independent attitudes from an early age.
