This study is an action research aimed to find out about: (1) the conditions needed for effective implementation of Three-Step Interview in improving students’ learning motivation in speaking; (2) in what degree Three-Step Interview enhances students’ learning motivation in speaking in Class 8A of SMP N 1 Tawangmangu in the academic year 2016/2017. This study is a qualitative research and was carried out from January until June 2017.
