Pengaruh Model Problem Based Learning Berbasis Ecopedagogy terhadap Environmental Awareness Peserta Didik Kelas IV Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning model based on Ecopedagogy on Environmental awareness of fourth-grade elementary school students at Gugus Sriwijaya Kartasura. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 37 students: 20 students in the experimental class (IVA SDN Pucangan 04) and 17 students in the control class (IVB SDN Pucangan 04). Environmental awareness was measured using a Situational Judgement Test (SJT) instrument consisting of 22 valid scenarios focusing on the affective dimension, which includes indicators of environmental concern, sensitivity, empathy, responsibility, and appreciation of nature. The results showed that the experimental class obtained a posttest mean of 77.50, while the control class obtained 65.24, with a difference of 12.26 points. Mann-Whitney U analysis showed U = 330.500 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, so H₀ was rejected. The gain score analysis showed that the experimental class obtained an average gain score of +2.00, while the control class obtained -4.18. These results indicate that the Problem Based Learning model based on Ecopedagogysignificantly influences the affective dimension of Environmental awareness of fourth-grade elementary school students
