PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING BERBANTU MEDIA MIND MAPPING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS PADA PEMBELAJARAN AKUNTANSI

Abstract

Abstract

The objective of this research is to improve critical thinking ability of students through application of mind mapping media-assisted problem-based learning in Accounting learning of the students in Grade XI. This research used the classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Its subjects were the students as many as 29 in Grade XI of Accounting Expertise Program. Data of the research were collected through observation, test, and documentation. They were validated with content validity technique, and analyzed by using the descriptive model of analysis. The result of the research shows that the application of mind mapping media-assisted problem-based learning could improve the critical thinking ability in Accounting both in Cycle I and Cycle II. Prior to the treatment, percentage of critical thinking ability of the students was 48.28%. Following the treatments, it became 62.07% in Cycle I and 79.31% in Cycle II.

Abstrak

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menerapkan model Problem Based Learning berbantu media Mind Mapping pada pembelajaran akuntansi kelas XI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari kegiatan perencanaan,  pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI Akuntansi yang berjumlah  29 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Teknik uji validitas data menggunakan validitas isi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Problem Based Learning berbantu media Mind Mapping mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada pembelajaran akuntansi baik siklus I maupun siklus II. Pada tindakan siklus I dan siklus II penerapan model Problem Based Learning berbantu media Mind Mapping mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dari 48,28% menjadi 62,07%, dan dari 62,07%, menjadi 79,31%.
