Peer Review Process

All submissions are reviewed by one of the editor and at least two reviewers. Sains Tanah uses anonymous reviewing, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Authors are requested not to suggest reviewers with whom they have a personal or professional relationship, especially if that relationship would prevent the reviewer from having an unbiased opinion of the work of the authors. A working e-mail address for each reviewer is essential for rapid review in the event that reviewer is selected from those that are identified by the authors. You may also select reviewers you do not want to review your manuscript, but please state your reason for doing so.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.



This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...


Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees:

  • Article Submission: 0.00 (USD) : Authors are NOT required to pay an Article Submission Fee.
  • Article processing charges (APCs) / Article Publication Fee: 55.00 USD (750,000 IDR), if your manuscript is accepted for publication

SAINS TANAH journal does not charge any additional publication fee for the author(s) who have the submission date on 2017. Start from July 2018, for service improvement, this journal charge the article publication fee for supporting the cost of wide open access dissemination of research results, managing the various costs associated with handling and editing of the submitted manuscripts, and the Journal management and publication in general, the authors or the author's institution is requested to pay a publication fee for each article accepted.

The fee covers:

  • The standard twelve (12) pages manuscript. For every additional page an extra fee of 5 USD per page will be charged.
  • DOI registration for each paper.
  • Checking the article similarity by Turnitin; the final result will be sent to authors.
  • The payment DOES NOT INCLUDE print version and delivery fees of the hardcopy. Printings and delivery should be by request with the following fees: USD 20.00 (250,000 IDR) for 3 copies, including domestic delivery.  Delivery to abroad (out of Indonesia) is according to the standard fee by EMS. The printing version is issued some months after the online version, depends on the request.
  • FREE OF CHARGE will be available for paper submission of authors, from minimum two countries.

A waiver or partial waiver of author fees may be decided by the editor in case of lack of funding, excessive length of submitted manuscript or other reasonable reasons provided by the author during the submission. The author should clearly declare that he asks for a waiver in the comments to the Editor box during their submission. A waiver is most likely to be denied if it is not asked in this stage. The waiver will have no effect to the review result.
