Author Guidelines

1. General Information

SEPA (Jurnal Sosial Ekonomi Pertanian dan Agribisnis) publishes original research articles, reviews, and case studies in agricultural socio-economics and agribusiness. Manuscripts must be written in English and comply with the journal template. The article length should be 10–15 pages, typed in Times New Roman font size 11, single-column layout, 1.15 line spacing, and justified alignment. Margins: Top 2.5 cm, Bottom 3.0 cm, Left 3.0 cm, Right 2.5 cm.

Manuscripts that do not follow the format or template will be automatically rejected.

2. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript must include the following sections in order:

Title

Written in capital letters, centered, Times New Roman 14 pt. Concise and informative, maximum 15 words.

Author(s)

Full names (no titles), centered, Times New Roman 11 pt. Include institutional affiliations and indicate the corresponding author with an asterisk (*).

Example:

Fanny Widadie¹, Minar Ferichani², Jos Bijman³

Abstract and Keywords

Abstract written in English, 175–200 words, single paragraph. Summarizes background, methods, main results, and conclusions. No citations or abbreviations.

Keywords: 5 keywords separated by commas.

Citation Format

Example:

Widadie, F., Ferichani, M., & Bijman, J. (2025). Title of the paper. SEPA (Jurnal Sosial Ekonomi Pertanian dan Agribisnis), 22(1), 1–15.

Introduction

Concise background, problem statement, objectives, and rationale. Avoid excessive citations; use only essential references.

Method

Include type of research, location and time, population/sample, data collection, and analytical methods. Subsections may be used without numbering.

Results and Discussion

Present and interpret findings clearly with tables, figures, and analysis. Tables: numbered sequentially, caption above the table, source below. Figures: centered, caption below the figure, numbered consecutively.

Equation

Use the Word “Equation” tool. Number equations consecutively in parentheses aligned to the right margin.

Conclusion

Concisely state key findings related to the objectives. Do not repeat the abstract or introduce new discussion points. Use paragraph form, not bullet points.

Acknowledgements

Mention funding sources and supporting institutions, if applicable.

References

Only include cited sources. Use APA 6th Edition referencing style. Recommended to use Mendeley for citation management.

3. Formatting Requirements

Font: Times New Roman, 11 pt (text, table, and figures).

Spacing: 1.15, condensed 0.3 pt.

Paragraph spacing: before and after = 0 pt.

Page numbers not required.

Black text color only.

Do not use automatic numbering except in problem statements or enumerations within the discussion.

4. Submission

Authors must submit manuscripts through the OJS (Online Journal System) at https://jurnal.uns.ac.id/sepa. Each submission will be screened for similarity using plagiarism detection software. Only manuscripts that pass editorial and peer review processes will be accepted for publication.

5. Review Process

Submitted manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers. The editorial board reserves the right to make minor editorial adjustments without altering the substance of the manuscript.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
