PENGUATAN KARAKTER KEMANDIRIAN MELALUI PERKULIAHAN KEPRAMUKAAN SEBAGAI UPAYA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MUTU LULUSAN

Abstract

The purpose of this research, first, is to identify the implementation of scouting lectures. The second describes the response of students during the scouting lectures. Third, describe the response of alumni and stakeholders regarding scouting courses. Fourth, produce a draft model of character strengthening through scouting lectures for PPKn students as an effort to improve the quality of graduates. This development research was carried out in stages. In the first stage, a qualitative descriptive approach was used. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, focus group discussion, observations, literature reviews and archival recording. Sources of data come from scouting course supervisors, study program lecturers, alumni, and students taking scouting courses and stakeholders. Data validation is done through triangulation of sources and methods. Data analysis using interactive model. The results of the study concluded, first, that the implementation of scouting lectures at the department of PPKn FKIP UMS was held in semesters I, II, and IV. Second, students feel the many benefits of attending scouting lectures, especially those related to character building as prospective civics teachers. Third, alumni and stakeholders stated that the existence of scouting courses supports the quality of graduates, including to answer the challenges of the independent curriculum. Fourth, there is a draft model for strengthening student character through scouting lectures as an effort to improve the quality of graduates of the department PPKn FKIP UMS.
