Author Guidelines

PANDUAN PENULIS (AUTHOR GUIDELINES) - JURNAL RISET REKAYASA SIPIL

A. Ketentuan Umum

1. Naskah harus merupakan karya orisinal dan belum pernah dipublikasikan di jurnal lain.

2. Naskah ditulis dalam bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar.

3. Penulis wajib menggunakan aplikasi pengelola referensi seperti Mendeley, Zotero, atau EndNote dengan gaya sitasi [Sebutkan gaya, misal: IEEE atau APA].

B. Struktur Naskah (Substansi) Naskah harus disusun dengan urutan sebagai berikut:

1. Judul: Maksimal 15 kata, lugas, dan mencerminkan isi penelitian.

2. Abstrak: Satu paragraf (150-250 kata) yang memuat masalah, tujuan, metode singkat, hasil utama, dan simpulan.

3. Pendahuluan (Tanpa Sub-Bab): * Latar Belakang Umum: Maksimum 1-2 paragraf awal.

   • State of the Art: Wajib memuat kajian literatur dari jurnal ilmiah (minimal 10 tahun terakhir) untuk menunjukkan posisi penelitian di antara penelitian sebelumnya.

   • Gap Analysis: Menjelaskan secara eksplisit perbedaan unik atau kesenjangan (orisinalitas) penelitian ini dibandingkan dengan penelitian terdahulu.

   • Novelty & Tujuan: Diakhiri dengan pernyataan kebaruan (novelty) dan tujuan penelitian dalam satu paragraf deskriptif.

4. Metode: Menjelaskan prosedur penelitian, lokasi (jika perlu), serta teknik analisis data. Hindari penggunaan bullet/numbering; gunakan paragraf deskriptif untuk menjelaskan urutan kerja atau notasi rumus.

5. Hasil dan Pembahasan: * Hasil: Menyajikan data yang sudah diolah (tabel/grafik), bukan data mentah. Jelaskan temuan utama (finding).

   • Pembahasan (Crucial): Menjelaskan unsur Why (mengapa hasil tersebut diperoleh) dan What Else (membandingkan hasil dengan penelitian orang lain/teori yang ada). Wajib ada diskusi mengenai kesesuaian atau pertentangan dengan referensi terkait.

6. Kesimpulan: Menjawab tujuan penelitian secara padat. Ditulis dalam bentuk paragraf, bukan list poin.

7. Daftar Pustaka: * Minimal 20 referensi.

   • Minimal 80% berasal dari literatur primer (Jurnal Ilmiah/Prosiding).

   • Maksimal 20% dari buku teks.

   • Minimal 80% referensi terbitan 10 tahun terakhir.

C. Ketentuan Visual (Gaya Selingkung)

• Tabel: Hanya gunakan garis horizontal pada bagian heading dan penutup tabel. Dilarang menggunakan garis vertikal dan garis horizontal di tengah data.

• Gambar/Grafik: * Gambar tidak boleh memiliki garis tepi (border line) luar.

  • Grafik wajib memiliki titik skala (tick points) yang jelas pada sumbu X dan Y.

  • Resolusi gambar minimal 300 dpi.

• Persamaan: Notasi simbol pada rumus harus dijelaskan dalam bentuk paragraf deskriptif setelah rumus, bukan dalam bentuk daftar ke bawah.

• Perujukan: Tabel dan Gambar harus dirujuk di dalam teks sebelum ditampilkan (Contoh: "… dapat dilihat pada Tabel 1", bukan "… dapat dilihat pada tabel di bawah ini").

D. Contoh Penulisan Hasil dan Pembahasan (Untuk Template)

4. Hasil dan Pembahasan (Instruksi: Bagian ini harus memuat unsur What/How, Why, dan What Else secara deskriptif. Hindari penggunaan bullet points.)

4.1 Analisis Kapasitas Saluran (Unsur What/How) Berdasarkan hasil simulasi, kapasitas tampung pada titik tinjauan adalah $5.2$ $m³/s$. Debit puncak periode ulang 25 tahun (Q₂₅) menunjukkan angka $6.8$ $m³/s$, sehingga terdapat defisit kapasitas sebesar $1.6$ $m³/s$. Visualisasi profil aliran dapat dilihat pada Gambar 1.

4.2 Interpretasi dan Perbandingan (Unsur Why & What Else) Terjadinya luapan tersebut disebabkan oleh sedimentasi yang menempati 30% dari kedalaman saluran (Unsur Why). Hal ini menurunkan nilai koefisien Manning secara signifikan. Temuan ini sejalan dengan penelitian Hadiani (2024) yang menyatakan bahwa sedimentasi merupakan faktor utama kegagalan drainase urban di Surakarta (Unsur What Else). Namun, hasil ini berbeda dengan studi Smith (2022) pada lahan curam, di mana faktor kecepatan aliran lebih dominan dibandingkan dengan hambatan sedimen.

A. General Requirements

1. Originality:  Manuscripts must be original, have not been published previously, and must not be currently under consideration by another journal.

2. Language: Manuscripts may be submitted in English (clear and concise) or Bahasa Indonesia.

3. Reference Manager: Authors are strictly required to use reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote) with the [Insert Style, e.g., IEEE or APA] citation style.

B. Manuscript Structure (Substantive Content)

Manuscripts must be organized in the following order:

1. Title: Maximum 15 words, informative, and accurately reflecting the research content.

2. Abstract: A single paragraph (150–250 words) covering the problem statement, objectives, brief methodology, key findings, and conclusions.

3. Introduction (No Sub-headings):

   • Background: A brief overview of the research context (maximum 1–2 paragraphs).

   • State of the Art: Authors must include a literature review of recent scholarly journals (preferably from the last 10 years) to establish the research position among previous studies.

   • Gap Analysis: Explicitly state the unique differences, gaps, or originality of this research compared to existing literature.

   • Novelty & Objective: Conclude with a clear statement of novelty and the research objectives in a descriptive paragraph.

4. Methods: Describe the research procedures, locations (if applicable), and data analysis techniques. Avoid bullet points; use descriptive paragraphs to explain workflows or mathematical notations.

5. Results and Discussion:

   • Results (What/How): Present processed data (tables/figures), not raw data. Highlight the primary findings.

   • Discussion (Why & What Else): This section is crucial. Authors must explain why the results occurred (scientific interpretation) and What Else (compare the findings with other researchers’ work or existing theories). State clearly whether the results support or contradict previous studies.

6. Conclusion: Address the research objectives concisely. Write in paragraph form, not listed points.

7. References:

   • Minimum 20 references.

   • At least 80% must be from primary literature (Scientific Journals/Proceedings).

   • Minimum 80% of references must be published within the last 10 years.

C. Visual and Formatting Guidelines (Gaya Selingkung)

• Tables: Use the "Open Style" format (horizontal lines only at the heading and the bottom of the table). No vertical lines and no horizontal lines between data rows.

• Figures/Graphs:

  • Figures must not have an outer border line.

  • Graphs must include tick points on both the X and Y axes.

  • Minimum resolution is 300 dpi.

• Equations: Mathematical symbols must be explained in descriptive paragraphs following the equation, not in a vertical list.

• Citations in Text: Tables and Figures must be cited within the text before they appear (e.g., "...as shown in Table 1," instead of "...as shown in the table below").

D. Example of Results & Discussion (For Template)

4. Results and Discussion Based on the simulation, the drainage capacity at the observation point is $5.2$ $m^3/s$. The 25-year return period (Q₂₅) peak discharge is $6.8$ $m^3/s$, resulting in a capacity deficit of $1.6$ $m^3/s$.

The overflow is caused by sedimentation occupying 30% of the channel depth (Why). This finding is consistent with Hadiani (2024), who stated that urban sedimentation is the primary cause of drainage failure in Surakarta (What Else). However, this differs from Smith’s (2022) study in steeper terrains, where flow velocity is more dominant than sediment resistance.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
3. The manuscript contains at least 20 references, where at least 80% are from primary sources (scientific journals) published within the last 10 years. The use of reference management tools (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote) is mandatory.

4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. 

   The text follows the formatting requirements: Figures must not have outer borders, graphs must include visible tick points on both axes, and tables must not contain vertical lines (Open Table Style).

5. The authors have included an AI Disclosure Statement (if applicable) and ensure that all content remains the intellectual responsibility of the human authors, as specified in the Author Guidelines.
6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
7. the Abstract of Journals must be in two languages (Indonesia and English)
8. Authors have included an AI Disclosure Statement if any AI tools were used during the manuscript preparation, as outlined in the Author Guidelines
