TINGKAT BERPIKIR KRITIS MAHASISWA: PERBEDAAN MAHASISWA YANG MENGIKUTI DAN TIDAK MENGIKUTI KEGIATAN EKSTRAKURIKULER
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the differences in critical thinking skills between students who participate in extracurricular activities and those who do not at Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. The research employed a quantitative approach with a comparative design. The population consisted of all students who participated and those who did not participate in extracurricular activities at Universitas Sebelas Maret. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. Data were collected through a critical thinking test. The validity of the instrument was tested using the Pearson product-moment correlation technique, while reliability was tested using Cronbach's Alpha. Data analysis was conducted using the independent sample t-test. The results of the study showed a significant difference in critical thinking levels between students involved in extracurricular activities and those who were not. This finding was supported by the t-test results, where the t-value (3.319) was higher than the t-table value (1.664). Based on these results, it can be concluded that extracurricular activities can serve as an alternative means to enhance students' critical thinking skills.
