Types of Manuscript

Jurnal Psikoedukasi dan Konseling accepts two types of manuscripts: original research articles and review articles in the fields of educational psychology, guidance, and counseling. All submissions must demonstrate academic rigor, methodological quality, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.

Original Research Articles

Original research articles report significant findings from empirical studies that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in educational psychology, guidance, and counseling. These articles present the authors’ original research, including the study rationale, research questions or objectives, methodology, findings, and interpretation of results, supported by relevant evidence and scholarly literature.

Eligible studies may employ quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches. Quantitative studies may include experimental or quasi-experimental research, survey studies, correlational analyses, and other appropriate statistical methods. Qualitative studies may employ interviews, focus groups, observations, document analysis, or other systematic approaches to exploring psychological, educational, guidance, and counseling phenomena. Mixed-methods studies integrating quantitative and qualitative data are also welcome.

Original research articles generally include an abstract, introduction, method, results, discussion, conclusion, and references. The manuscript structure may be adjusted according to the research design and methodological approach, provided that the study is presented clearly and systematically.

Review Articles

Review articles critically examine, synthesize, and integrate findings from previously published studies on topics relevant to educational psychology, guidance, and counseling. These articles aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the existing body of knowledge, identify research trends and gaps, evaluate theoretical and empirical developments, and suggest directions for future research and professional practice.

Review articles should employ a systematic and transparent approach to identifying, selecting, and analyzing relevant literature, appropriate to the review methodology. Eligible submissions may include systematic reviews, scoping reviews, meta-analyses, and other rigorous forms of scholarly literature review. Narrative reviews may also be considered when they provide a clear rationale, critical synthesis, and substantial contribution to the field.

Review articles generally include an abstract, introduction, review methodology, results or thematic synthesis, discussion, conclusion, and references, as appropriate to the review design.

Research Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Paper should be written in good Bahasa Indonesia/ English. The length of submitted paper is at least 6 pages and no more than 12 pages (including references). Use of a reference tool such as Mendeley, End Note, or Zotero for reference management and formatting, and choose APA 6th edition. 

Research manuscript submitted to this journal should follow the heading below: Title; Authors Name; Authors Affiliation; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Methods; Results and Discussion; Conclusions; Acknowledgments (optional); and References.

1. Title
This is your opportunity to attract the reader’s attention. Remember that readers are the potential authors who will cite your article. Identify the main issue of the paper. Begin with the subject of the paper. The title should be accurate, unambiguous, specific, and complete. Do not contain infrequently-used abbreviations. Number of word in title is no more than 15 words. Title should be written in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

2. Authors name and affiliation
Write Author(s) names without title and professional positions such as Prof, Dr, Production Manager, etc. Do not abbreviate your last/family name. Always give your First and Last names. If you have one word name such as Laksana, write Laksana Laksana. Write clear affiliation of all Authors. Affiliation includes: name of department/unit, (faculty), name of university, address, country. Please indicate Corresponding Author (include email address) behind the name.

3. Abstract
The abstract should be clear, concise, and descriptive. This abstract should provide a brief introduction to the problem, objective of paper, followed by a statement regarding the methodology and a brief summary of results. The abstract should end with a comment on the significance of the results or a brief conclusion. An abstract should stand alone, means that no citation in the abstract. Abstract should be written in Bahasa Indonesia and English. The abstract should contains 150-200 words.

4. Keywords
Maximum of 5 keywords separated by semicolon (;), crucial to the appropriate indexing of the papers, are to be given.

5. Introduction
The Introduction ought to give readers with the background data required to know your study, and the reasons why you conducted your experiments. The Introduction ought to answer the question: what question/problem was studied? Please don't write a literature review in your Introduction, however, do cite reviews wherever readers will realize a lot of data if they need it. Whereas writing the background, make certain your citations are relevant, well balanced, and current (not older than ten years).Once you have got provided background material and expressed the matter or question for your study, tell the reader the aim of your study. Typically, the explanation is to fill a niche within the information or to answer an antecedent unrequited question. The ultimate factor to incorporate at the top of your Introduction could be a clear and precise statement of your study aims.

6. Method
Method is is a part consists of the design of the research, subject, instrument, data collection procedure, and data analysis. This section provides the reader with all the small print of however you conducted your study. You ought to use subheadings to separate totally different methodologies. Afterwards, you ought to describe what you probably did within the past, describe new strategies in enough detail that another investigator will reproduce your experiment, and describe established strategies in short.

7. Results 

The Results section presents the findings of the study in a clear, logical, and concise manner. It should directly address the research questions or hypotheses and include only findings relevant to the study's objectives. Tables, figures, and charts may be used where appropriate to support the presentation of the data. Report the key findings objectively, without extensive interpretation or discussion of their implications, as these should be addressed in the Discussion section.

8. Discussion

The Discussion section should answer the question: What do your results mean? In other words, the Discussion and Conclusion sections should primarily focus on interpreting the findings. Discuss the conclusions in order of importance, from the most to the least significant. Compare your findings with those of previous studies, and recommend further research or experiments where necessary to clarify or validate your results. Explain the implications of your findings for researchers in the same field, researchers in other disciplines, and the broader public.

Table
Tables are sequentially numbered with the table title and number above the table. Tables should be centered in the column OR on the page. Tables are referred in the text by the table number. eg: Table 1. Do not show vertical line in the table. There is only horizontal line should be shown within the table.

Figure
Figures are sequentially numbered commencing at 1 with the figure title and number below the figure as shown in Figure 1. Detailed recommendations for figures are as follows: (a) ensure that figures are clear and legible with typed letterings; (b) black & white or colored figures are allowed; (c) hard copy illustrations should, preferably, be scanned and included in the electronic version of the submission in an appropriate format as follows: BMP; WMF; EPS; Microsoft Graph; Microsoft Draw.

9. Conclusion

In conclusion, state however your results extend the findings of previous studies. If your findings are preliminary, you must recommend future studies that require to be disbursed.

10. Declaration of Conflicting Interests

All authors must disclose any financial and personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work. Examples of potential competing interests include employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent applications/ registrations, and grants or other funding. Or the author declared no potential conflicts of interest with respect to the research, authorship, and/ or publication of this article.

11. Ethics Statement

Authors must include an ethics statement when the study involves human participants. The statement should mention ethical approval, informed consent, confidentiality protection, and participant rights. If ethical approval was not required, authors may write that ethical approval was not required for this study because [explain the reason]. The author(s) confirm that the study was conducted in accordance with ethical research principles, including informed consent, voluntary participation, and confidentiality protection.

12. Declaration of Generative AI Use

Authors must choose one of the following two declaration options. Please do not change the wording of the selected declaration.

• The author(s) used [name of AI tool] to assist with language editing and readability improvement. The author(s) have reviewed, edited, and verified all AI-assisted content and accept full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript.
• The author(s) declare that no Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tool was used in the preparation of this manuscript.

Recognize those who helped in the research, especially funding supporter of your research. Include individuals who have assisted you in your study: Advisors, Financial supporters, or may another supporter, i.e. Proofreaders, Typists, and Suppliers, who may have given materials. Do not acknowledge one of the authors names.

14. References

All references cited in the manuscript must be listed in the reference section and formatted consistently according to the journal’s citation style (APA 6th edition). Each manuscript must include a minimum of 15 references, with at least 85% drawn from peer-reviewed scientific journals published within the last ten years. While the use of textbooks should be minimized, citations from general websites must be avoided, unless they originate from credible scientific institutions or official data sources. Avoid excessive self‐citations. Avoid excessive citations of publications from the same region. Check each reference against the original source (authors name, volume, issue, year, DOI Number). Please use Reference Manager Applications like Mendeley, End Note, or Zotero, etc.
