Pengaruh Life Course Event terhadap Housing Mobility
Abstract
Dari hasil riset yang dilakukan oleh Alvara Research Center, diketahui bahwa generasi milenial mendominasi populasi di Indonesia pada tahun 2020 dengan porsi sekitar 34 persen dan diikuti 20 persen generasi X. Milenial lebih memilih tinggal bersama orang tuanya, sehingga mengarah pada keterlambatan kepemilikan rumah. Sebaliknya, Gen X (lahir 1965 hingga 1980) yang dicirikan sebagai pemecah masalah yang baik dan logis memiliki karakteristik dan preferensi kepemilikan rumah yang berbeda daripada generasi milenial. Hal ini menjadikan menarik untuk membahas perjalanan perpindahan rumah para Gen X sebelum akhirnya memiliki rumah kepemilikan pribadi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan perjalanan hidup (life course) terhadap perpindahan rumah (housing mobility) yang dialami oleh Gen X. Perjalanan hidup (life course event) diartikan sebagai pendekatan untuk menyelidiki perubahan lingkungan individu dan implikasi perkembangannya berdasarkan usia dalam matriks hubungan sosial dan proses perkembangan. Mobilitas perumahan (housing mobility) diartikan sebagai kejadian berpindah–pindah suatu rumah tangga dalam proses menempati tempat tinggal secara pribadi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara tidak terstruktur. Narasi yang disusun memungkinkan untuk memeriksa interkoneksi banyak elemen perjalanan hidup yang kompleks. Wawancara dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2022 melalui sambungan telepon. Hasil studi ini mengungkapkan sifat mobilitas perumahan serta kemungkinan menghadapi perubahan arah kehidupan tergantung pada tahapan perjalanan hidup rumah tangga tersebut. Maka dari itu, model perilaku mobilitas perumahan harus memasukkan penyesuaian perumahan dan perubahan dalam perjalanan hidup rumah tangga.
