Author Guidelines

Please read the Javanologi: International Journal of Javanese Studies guidelines and follow these instructions carefully. Manuscripts not adhering to the instructions will be returned for revision without review. The Chief Editor reserves the right to return manuscripts that are not prepared in accordance with these guidelines.

 

The author (s) have to submit the article through online submissions.

Javanologi: International Journal of Javanese Studies covers research on interdisciplinary Javanese studies including social sciences, anthropology, archaeology and history, architecture and urbanism, economics, education, geography, law, management studies, media and communication studies, political sciences and public policy, population studies, psychology, sociology, technology management, tourism, humanities - arts and culture, dance, historical and civilization studies, language and linguistics, literature, music, philosophy, religious studies, sports, and other scopes about Javanese Studies.

 

The submission stage

All articles submitted to the journal Javanologi, Full text should be written in good English. The paper should be submitted by the author via online submission.

 

How to prepare a manuscript?

All manuscripts should describe original research which has not been reported or submitted elsewhere. Please send an original and soft copy of the manuscript to the editorial office.

 

Manuscript Format

The manuscript is written in 11-point Times New Roman font 1.5 space in the A4 paper. Margins on all four sides are 2.5 cm.

The following word processor file formats are acceptable for the main manuscript document for all: Microsoft Word (DOC, DOCX) and Rich text format (RTF) with sizes not more than 8MB.

The following formats for figure files: Please make sure that artwork files are in an acceptable format (TIFF, EPS, or MS Office files) and with the correct resolution. Ensure that each illustration has a caption. Supply captions separately, not attached to the figure. A caption should comprise a brief title (not on the figure itself) and a description of the illustration. Keep text in the illustrations themselves to a minimum but explain all symbols and abbreviations used. Multiple figures can be expressed as one figure (e.g., 1a, 1b, 1c, etc.) while retaining the maximum limit of 6.

The text should be in single-column format. Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. Most formatting codes will be removed and replaced on processing the article.

Page numbers are located at the bottom right.

Figures and Tables are placed in the manuscript (integrated with the whole manuscript).

Conclusion should be written in one paragraph.

 

Manuscript sections are written in this order, with no alphabet chapter marker i.e.:

  1. TITLE
  2. ABSTRACT
  3. INTRODUCTION
  4. METHOD
  5. RESULT AND DISCUSSION
  6. CONCLUSION
  7. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT (If any)
  8. REFERENCES

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. Authors must declare any competing financial and/or non-financial interests in relation to the work described.
  3. Authors must follow Javanologi template and guideline.
  4. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  5. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  6. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  7. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  8. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
 

Copyright Notice

Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete an ‘Author Declaration'.

An e-mail will be sent to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript together with an 'Author Declaration' form or a link to the online version of this agreement.

The Authors submitting a manuscript do so on the understanding that if accepted for publication, the copyright of the article shall be transferred to Javanologi International Journal of Javanese Studies.
