Tingkat Kesejahteraan Keluarga Pelaku Mobilitas Sirkuler Di Kecamatan Jatiyoso Tahun 2019

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the socio-demographic characteristics of circular migrants; (2) the factors influencing residents to engage in circular mobility; (3) the destination areas for circular mobility; (4) the level of family welfare; and (5) the relationship between socio-demographic conditions and the family welfare level of circular migrants in Jatiyoso District in 2019. A descriptive quantitative research method was employed. The study population consisted of heads of households or family members who engaged in circular mobility. Cluster random sampling was used as the sampling technique. The results indicate that (1) the majority of circular migrants in Jatiyoso District in 2019 were males aged 40–49, had 3–4 family dependents, had completed only primary school, worked as traders, and had been engaged in circular mobility for 21–30 years; (2) the push factors for circular mobility in Jatiyoso District included low income in the village or agricultural sector, a lack of local job opportunities, and insufficient land ownership; the pull factors included higher income in destination areas, the availability of jobs in destination areas, and encouragement from friends or relatives; (3) the respondents' destination areas were primarily outside Central Java Province, specifically DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten; (4) regarding family welfare levels among circular migrants in Jatiyoso District, 65.03% fell into the high welfare category, 33.33% into the medium category, and 1.64% into the low category; and (5) socio-demographic characteristics influencing family welfare levels included age, gender, number of dependents, type of occupation, and duration of mobility.
