Peran Fungsi Eksekutif terhadap Penggunaan Strategi Regulasi Emosi Remaja

Abstract


Masa remaja merupakan masa yang membutuhkan pembelajaran dalam proses regulasi emosi, karena pada masa ini remaja mengalami perubahan mendasar terutama pada aspek emosional. Regulasi emosi dapat dilakukan dengan dua strategi, yaitu cognitive reappraisal dan expressive suppression. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi regulasi emosi adalah fungsi eksekutif yang merupakan proses neurokognitif yang berperan dalam integrasi informasi dan emosi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran fungsi eksekutif dalam penggunaan strategi cognitive reappraisal dan expressive suppression remaja. Penelitian merupakan penelitian deskriptif korelasional dengan sampel berjumlah 225 dan merupakan remaja yang tinggal di Indonesia berusia 13-17 tahun yang dilibatkan melalui teknik sampling convenience. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) dengan nilai reliabilitas 0,951 untuk CR dan 0,790 untuk ES, serta Executive Skills Questionnaire-Revised (ESQ-R) dengan nilai reliabilitas 0,897. Hasil penelitian yang dianalisis menggunakan teknik regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan bahwa fungsi eksekutif berperan positif dalam memprediksi penggunaan strategi cognitive reappraisal dan expressive suppression dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,513 dan 0,257. Penelitian ini menemukan pentingnya fungsi eksekutif dalam memengaruhi penggunaan strategi regulasi emosi pada remaja. Dengan demikian, peningkatan fungsi eksekutif (seperti organization, time management, response inhibition, emotional control, sustained action, dan goal directed persistence) dapat berkontribusi terhadap kemampuan individu dalam mengelola emosi secara lebih adaptif.
