Author Guidelines

Please read and understand the author guidelines and manuscript requirements before submitting your paper. Authors submitting a manuscript to BISE: Jurnal Pendidikan Bisnis dan Ekonomi must strictly comply with the provided guidelines and official article template. Manuscripts that do not adhere to the guidelines or use an incorrect format may be rejected by the editorial team during the initial screening process before peer review.

The editorial team will only process manuscripts that meet the specified formatting requirements. Authors are strongly encouraged to prepare their manuscripts using the official BISE Article Template. Manuscripts may be written in clear and acceptable English or Indonesian

Types of Manuscripts

BISE accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Research Articles: Present original empirical findings based on quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, experimental, survey, case study, development research, or other appropriate research approaches.
  • Review Articles: Provide a critical and systematic synthesis of previous research (systematic literature reviews, scoping reviews, bibliometric reviews, integrative reviews). Review articles must clearly describe and justify their review methodology.
  • Conceptual Articles: Develop, synthesize, or critically examine theories, concepts, or frameworks based on a comprehensive review of relevant scholarly literature.

Note: Original research articles are given priority in the publication process.

General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to BISE must meet the following requirements:

  • The manuscript must be an original work of the authors.
  • The manuscript must not have been previously published.
  • The manuscript must not be under consideration by another journal.
  • The manuscript must be relevant to the focus and scope of BISE.
  • The manuscript must clearly state the research problem and objectives.
  • The study must demonstrate an identifiable research gap.
  • The manuscript must clearly demonstrate its novelty and scholarly contribution.
  • The research methodology must be appropriate and adequately described.
  • The results and discussion must be presented clearly and systematically.
  • The manuscript must use relevant and up-to-date scholarly references.
  • The manuscript must follow the BISE article template.
  • The manuscript must follow the journal's citation and reference style.
  • The manuscript must comply with the journal's publication ethics.
  • The manuscript must be free from plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct.
  • All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.
  • Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the manuscript, including its data, analysis, interpretation, citations, references, and conclusions.

Language

  • Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are written in clear, appropriate, and academically acceptable language.
  • Manuscripts written in English should use consistent academic English and appropriate terminology throughout the article.

Manuscript Length & Format

  • Word Limit: Manuscripts should contain approximately 5,000–8,000 words, excluding the reference list and supplementary materials. Manuscripts exceeding the recommended word limit may be considered if the additional length is justified by the scope and complexity of the research.
  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
  • Paper Size: A4.
  • Formatting: Margins, fonts, line spacing, headings, tables, and figures must follow the official BISE Article Template available on the journal website.

Research articles should generally be organized as follows:

(Sections that are not applicable to a particular study may be omitted or stated as Not Applicable, where appropriate.)

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Open Office, Microsoft Word, RTF, or Word Perfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors retain the copyright of their published articles and grant BISE the right of first publication. Articles published by BISE are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
