PENGEMBANGAN MODUL TEOREMA PYTHAGORAS BERBASIS DISCOVERY LEARNING DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS

Abstract

This research aims to (1) discover the development process of pythagoras theorem learning module based on discovery learning and its effect on student’s mathematic problem solving ability in 8th grade class of SMPN 3 Kartasura, (2) find out the effectivity and practicality of pythagoras theorem learning module based on discovery learning, (3) find out the effect pythagoras theorem learning module based on discovery learning has on the mathematic problem solving ability of the students of 8th grade class of SMPN 3 Kartasura Year 2022/2023. This research was a Research and Development type of research based on the 4D model by Thiagarajan et al.; which consist of define, design, develop, and disseminate. Subject of this research consisted of needs analysis subject, module validation subject, module practicality test subject, and module effectivity subject. Instruments used in this research were: questionnaire of modul validity, response survey of students and teacher, and mathematic problem solving ability test. Analysis technique used were quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The quantitative data were the questionnaires and the test’s scores, while the qualitative data were the advices and comments from the validators, teacher and students. The result of this research showed that Pythagoras theorem learning module based on discovery learning is valid and practical, but doesn’t have a significant effect on student’s mathematic problem solving ability.
