Penerapan problem-based learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMK Batik 2 Surakarta

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the application of the problem-based learning model in improving students' critical thinking skills in the Automation of Facilities and Infrastructure Management subject for class XII OTKP 2, and (2) improve students' critical thinking skills by applying the problem-based learning model to the eye’s facility and infrastructure management Automation lesson for class XII OTKP 2 students. This research is classroom action research. The subjects of this study were 22 class XII OTKP 2 students. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and tests. Data validity used a qualitative validity test with source triangulation techniques and tested the validity of the questions with expert judgment. The application of the problem-based learning model is carried out in the following steps: orienting students to problems, organizing students for learning, guiding individual or group investigations, developing and presenting work, and analyzing and evaluating the problem-solving process. Application of learning with a problem-based learning model implemented in 2 cycles can improve students' critical thinking skills. This can be seen from the results of each cycle which has increased.
