Abstract

Research on Archives Management at SMK N 1 Klaten was conducted to determine the implementation, constraints, and solutions to the Archives Management process at SMK N 1 Klaten. This research topic is quite interesting to review because the management process in educational institutions, especially vocational schools, has not been managed optimally. To achieve the objectives of this study, data from 4 (four) informants involved in the archive management process at SMK N 1 Klaten were needed. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Research data was obtained from interviews, observation, and document study. The validity test technique used is source and method triangulation, using interactive data analysis techniques from Miles and Huberman. The results of this study refer to the principles of management processes: planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The obstacles faced by schools in carrying out archival management are the absence of official regulations regarding the management of digital archives, the lack of participation of school members in collecting archival documents collectively, and the archives are made of wood so that some archives are damaged due to termite pests in the archives storage area.
