Pengaruh Gerakan Literasi Sekolah dan Fasilitas Perpustakaan terhadap Minat Baca Siswa SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018

Abstract

            The purpose of this study was to determine is there any influence between: (1) School literacy movement towards student's reading interest at SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo; (2) Library facilities towards student’s reading interest at SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo; (3) School literacy movement and library facilities towards student’s reading interest at SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo.

           This study used quantitative correlational approach. The population of this study consist all of  X and XI  grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo which amounted to 710 students. The samples were 88 students taken from the population. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling and the data collection techniques used were questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used multiple regression analysis with SPSS statistics 17.0 program.

           The results of this study showed that: (1) the school literacy movement has a positive and significant effect towards student’s reading interest at SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo. It was shown that the result of the regression analysis was tcount> ttable or 7,474  > 1,992; (2) the library facilities has a positive and significant effect towards student’s reading interest at SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo. It was shown that the result of the regression analysis was tcount> ttable or 3,837 > 1,992; (3) the school literacy movement and library facilities has a positive and significant effect towards student’s reading interest at SMK Negeri 1 Sukoharjo. It was pointed out that the result of the regression analysis was Fcount> Ftable or 63,457 > 3,10. The result of regression line equation was  Ŷ = 6,495 + 0,611X1 + 0,339X2. The equation shows that reading interest was affected by school literacy movement and library facilities.

           The Relative contribution of school literacy movement towards reading interest was 71%. The Relative contribution of library facilities towards reading interest was 29%. Furthermore, the effective contribution of school literacy movement towards reading interest was 42,5%. The effective contribution of library facilities towards reading interest was 17,4%.
