Abstract

Evaluation of Authenticity and Integrity of Opening Elements in Three Historic Residences in Samarinda City

Historic residences in Samarinda are part of the city’s architectural and cultural heritage, but changes to doors, windows, and ventilation may affect their authenticity and integrity. Studies focusing on opening elements remain limited. This study aims to evaluate the authenticity and integrity of opening elements in Villa Annie, the Bugis Vernacular House in Samarinda Seberang, and the Pemung Tawai Traditional Lamin House. A qualitative descriptive-evaluative approach was employed through observation, documentation, literature review, and interviews. The analysis examined form, design, material, function, construction technique, proportion, and composition. The results show that Villa Annie and the Bugis Vernacular House have moderate authenticity and high integrity, while the Pemung Tawai Traditional Lamin House has high authenticity and moderate integrity. These findings provide a basis for prioritizing conservation of opening elements.
