Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to examine:(1)the influence of learning motivation on the interest in continuing education in accounting for class XII students of private vocational schools; (2) the influence of selfpotential on the interest in continuing education in accounting for class XII students of private vocational schools; (3) the influence of learning motivation and self-potential on the interest in continuing education in accounting for class XII students of private vocational schools. The population of this study was class XII of Accounting and Finance Institutions at Private Vocational Schools with a total of 166 students. The selected sample was 117 students using the proportional random sampling technique. This study used descriptive quantitative method. The data in this study were obtained through a questionnaire. The prerequisite tests used in this study were the linearity, normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests. The data analysis techniques used are regression test. The results of this study indicate that (1) there was an influence of learning motivation on the interest in continuing education in accounting for class XII students of private vocational schools; (2) there was an influence of selfpotential on interest in continuing education in accounting for class XII students of private vocational schools; (3) there was an influence of learning motivation and self-potential on the interest in continuing education in accounting for class XII students of private vocational schools. Thus it can be concluded that there was an influence of learning motivation and self-potential partially or simultaneously on the interest in continuing education to higher education in accounting in class XII students of private vocational schools. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji: (1) pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi di bidang akuntansi pada siswa kelas XII SMK Swasta; (2 pengaruh potensi diri terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi di bidang akuntansi pada siswa kelas XII SMK Swasta; (3) pengaruh motivasi belajar dan potensi diri terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi di bidang akuntansi pada siswa kelas XII SMK Swasta. Populasi penelitian ini adalah kelas XII Akuntansi dan Keuangan Lembaga SMK Swasta sebanyak 166 siswa. Sampel yang terpilih sebanyak 117 siswa terhadap menggunakan teknik proportional random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Data motivasi belajar, potensi diri, dan minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi diperoleh melalui angket. Uji prasyarat yang digunakan adalah uji linearitas, uji normalitas, uji multikolinearitas, dan uji heteroskedastisitas. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji t, uji f, uji regresi linear berganda, koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi di bidang akuntansi pada siswa kelas XII SMK Swasta; (2) terdapat pengaruh potensi diri terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi di bidang akuntansi pada siswa kelas XII SMK Swasta ;(3) terdapat pengaruh motivasi belajar dan potensi diri terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi di bidang akuntansi pada siswa kelas XII SMK Swasta. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh motivasi belajar dan potensi diri secara parsial maupun simultan terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi di bidang akuntansi pada siswa kelas XII SMK Swasta.
