COMPARISON OF LIPID PROFILE BETWEEN PATIENTS WITH CHOLELITHIASIS WITH AND WITHOUT TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS COMORBIDITY
Abstract
Cholelithiasis prevalence in Indonesia range between 5-10% in the general population. For diabetic melitus type 2, the prevalence reaches 10,6%showing a heavy toll of the disease. This condition sparks concern for the public and for medical practicioner. This research aims to look, analyze, and compare lipid profile of cholelithiasis patients with and without diabetic melitus type 2 as a comorbid using parametric comparative test, which is T-independent test. this is observational analytic research using cross sectional methods. This research uses 66 cholelithiasis patients with and without diabetes melitus type 2 comorbid in RS UNS admitted during the period of 2021-2023 as samples. For sampling method researcher used purposive sampling method. This research is conducted by looking at said patient’smedical records, then the data is analyzed using SPSS software, it is analyzed using parametric T-independent test. Comparing lipid profiles oncholelithiasis patients with and without diabetes melitus type 2 comorbidshows significant statistical difference for Trigliserida (p-value=0.003), HDL(p-value=0.032), and total cholesterol (p- value=0.003) the p -value equatesto <0.05. For LDL the p-value equates to >0.05 making the differencebetween the two groups insignificant. Trigliseride, HDL, and total cholesterol has a p-value<0.05 making the difference between the two groups significant, while LDL has a p-value>0.05 making the difference insignificant. However,on all of the variables the population with diabetes melitus type two comorbidholds a higher mean indicating that there are more people with abnormallipid profile on the population with the comorbid.
