Obesitas, Psychological Well-being, dan Depresi pada Remaja di Masa Pandemi COVID-19
Abstract
Pendahuluan: Remaja adalah periode transisi krusial yang menuntut banyak perubahan dalam hidup sehingga rentan mengalami gangguan kesehatan mental. Selama pandemi COVID-19, aktivitas fisik berkurang dan komponen penting peer relationship pada remaja terganggu sehingga prevalensi obesitas dan depresi meningkat. Gangguan aspek psikososial dalam perkembangan remaja ini diketahui memengaruhi kondisi Psychological Well-being (PWB). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan obesitas, PWB, dan depresi pada remaja selama pandemi COVID-19 serta faktor risikonya.
Metode: Studi cross-sectional dilaksanakan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner daring ke siswa-siswi SMP Bintang Laut Surakarta pada bulan April-Mei 2021. Sebanyak 108 remaja memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Status obesitas dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok: “tidak berisiko obesitas”, “berisiko obesitas”, dan “obesitas”. Pengukuran depresi menggunakan BDI-II dan PWB menggunakan skala Ryff (1898). Data dianalisis secara bivariat menggunakan SPSS.
Hasil: Sebanyak 75% remaja termasuk dalam kelompok “tidak berisiko obesitas” (IMT <23.0) dan majoritas remaja obesitas adalah laki-laki (X2(2,N=108)=8.417, p=0.015). Di sisi lain, remaja perempuan lebih berisiko mengalami depresi (r=0.248, p=0.010) dan memiliki komponen AU, EM, PG, PL, dan SA lebih rendah (p>0.05). Usia tidak memengaruhi status obesitas, depresi, dan PWB secara signifikan (p>0.05). Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa kelompok “obesitas” cenderung mengalami depresi dan kelompok “tidak berisiko obesitas” cenderung memiliki tingkat PWB yang tinggi, meskipun tidak signifikan (p>0.05).
Kesimpulan: Kondisi pandemi COVID-19 menjadi stressor yang memengaruhi kesehatan mental remaja. Depresi cenderung dialami oleh remaja perempuan dan kelompok obesitas, sedangkan PWB cenderung tinggi pada kelompok yang tidak berisiko obesitas. Peran peer group yang menurun selama pandemi dapat ditingkatkan kembali sebagai kunci intervensi kesehatan mental remaja.
