PERUBAHAN DAN KONTINYUITAS TRADISI BUDAYA BALI OLEH KOMUNITAS ORANG-ORANG BALI YANG TINGGAL DI SURAKARTA

Abstract

This research belongs to descriptive qualitative and comparative research by using ethnography of communication approach. The differences between Nyepi ritual done by Balinese Hindus who are wandering in Surakarta and Nyepi ritual done in Bali will be found in this research.

To expose these events, use ethnographic approach to communication. Then to compare it using qualitative research methods and comparative diskriptif. So it can be known whether there have been changes between implementation of the ritual at the time carried out in Bali with while in other cities, the city of Surakarta. By using the methods of the study, found the fact that Balinese Hindu communities residing in Surakarta adopted the rituals performed by Hindu community in Bali. Although most of the rituals performed Balinese Hindu communities in Surakarta adopted a ritual from Bali, but obtained the results that found some differences between the rituals carried out by both sides.
