Abstract

Abstract: Language is a personal reflection of a person when communicating with others. Sometimes the speaker accidentally offends the speech partner because of a misunderstanding in response to a speech. Even though not everyone can accept unsightly speech because it can cause speech partners to hurt their hearts or emotions when listening to unsightly speech. So that the communication that is established does not instill the principle of cooperation called the violation of maxims. This research is related to students' language politeness in the context of negotiations based on pragmatic studies on limited face-to-face learning. This is done because there are still students who do not understand how to communicate politely when communicating with speech partners. This study aims to describe the compliance and violation of maxims based on students' language politeness in negotiating for limited face-to-face learning. The research method is descriptive qualitative with a sociopragmatic approach. The subject of this study was a class X student of SMK. Data in the form of student speech during negotiation practices. Data collection techniques are carried out with listening and capable techniques. Teknik data analysis through data collection, data reduction, data analysis, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that there was a violation of the maxim of wisdom with the maxim of generosity and the fulfillment of the maxim of agreement with the maxim of sympathy in negotiating.  The second and fourth data were found to be maximal with a maxim of quantity and a maxim of quality in pragmatic studies.
