MEKANIKA : Majalah Ilmiah Mekanika is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sebelas Maret. The journal features original research articles, reviews, and short communications covering a wide range of topics in mechanical engineering and applied mechanics. 

The researches and reports of this journal are projected to be beneficial for Global South Countries, but it also welcomes any collaborating engineering and technological knowledges from Global North that suits and adaptable for industry, innovation and infrastructure in Global South.

Archipelagic country which is geographical feature of Indonesia as the journal homebase, it motivates the inland and maritime-based structures to be the fundamentals of the research cores. Detailing the structure aspects, concentrations are directed to material-based researches that involve nature-based resources (consisting pure material and waste recycle) from equatorial regions to develop functional and state-of-the-art materials. Integration of those cores are projected to present alternative-reliable reference for engineering purposes, especially in terms of future community, energy development, industrial revolution, and sustainable environment.

We welcome submissions from researchers and institutions worldwide. As of 2021, English is the mandatory language for all submitted and accepted manuscripts. All submissions must be original work and not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Accreditation & Indexing MEKANIKA has been accredited by the National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA), managed by the Ministry of Research and Technology/National Agency for Research and Innovation (Republic of Indonesia). It holds a Second Grade (Sinta 2) ranking according to Decree No. 295/C/C3/KPT/2026 (link).

The journal is indexed, abstracted, and displayed in DOAJ, Garuda, SINTA by Ristek/BRIN of The Republic of Indonesia, GOOGLE Scholar, and others.
