Abstract

This research objective was to determine the effect of video animation-assisted problem-based learning (PBL) on Fifth grade elementary school critical thinking skills in scientific learning in Laweyan District. This research is a quantitative research. The study was conducted with one test. The research subjects were fifth grade elementary school students in Laweyan district, totaling 51 students. Sources of data come from students. The method of data collecting employed a multiple choice reasoned test. Data validity and normality analysis using product moment correlation through SPSS 16.0 for windows application using Kolmogorov-Smirnov technique. This study uses an approach that is applied is Quasi-experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The results showed that based on the Simple Linear Regression Test on the SPSS 16.0 application, a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.013 < 0.05 indicates that there is an effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by animated video on critical thinking skills. The research's conclusion is that there is an effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by animated videos on critical thinking skills in science learning for fifth grade elementary school in Laweyan District.
