Penerapan Karakteristik Pemadatan Guna Lahan Campuran menuju Konsep Kota Kompak di Indonesia

Abstract

Konsep mengenai compact city atau kota kompak digagas oleh dua matematikawan, Dantzig dan Saatay pada tahun 1973, yang melakukan kritik terhadap penggunaan sumber daya perkotaan agar lebih efisien. Selain itu, kota kompak yang merupakan pendekatan perencanaan dan perancangan kota ini telah dikenal luas di kalangan pendukung gerakan new urbanist dan smart growth. Paperl ini akan membahas bagaimana konsep kota kompak mampu menjawab pembatasan perluasan wilayah pinggiran kota melalui karakteristik yang padat, dengan penggunaan lahan campuran dan penggunaan transportasi publik. Dalam paper ini akan dibahas pula argumen keberpihakan maupun ketidakberpihakan dari berbagai tinjauan mengenai penerapan konsep kota kompak. Selanjutnya, akan dibahas konsep kota kompak yang diterapkan Kota Amsterdam sebagai salah satu contoh keberhasilan dalam mencapai pembatasan perluasan wilayah melalui pemadatan guna lahan campuran. Kemudian, dilakukan kajian mengenai konsep kota kompak di Kota Amsterdam jika diterapkan di Indonesia.
