Review Process Policy

Review Process Policy

All manuscripts submitted to the Indonesian Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) undergo initial editorial screening for scope, formatting, and plagiarism using tools such as Turnitin and Google Scholar. Eligible manuscripts are reviewed through a double-blind peer review process by two independent reviewers selected by the Editor-in-Chief, with assistance from the Editorial Board when necessary. Both authors' and reviewers' identities remain confidential.

Each submission is assigned a manuscript identification number for correspondence. Reviewers are generally given three weeks to complete each review round. Based on reviewers' recommendations and the editor's assessment, the decision may be Accept Submission, Revisions Required, Resubmit for Review, or Decline Submission. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted through the journal's online system.

The Editor-in-Chief communicates decisions to authors and ensures that the review process is fair and objective. Accepted manuscripts proceed to production, and authors are informed of their scheduled issue of publication.

Reviewers have the following responsibilities:

  • Reviewers assists the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board in making editorial decisions and in improving the manuscript;
  • Reviewers who feel unqualified to provide a scientifically correct review in the amount of time given should immediately notify the Editor-in-Chief so that alternative reviewers can be contacted;
  • Reviewers treat all manuscripts as confidential documents;
  • Reviewers must report the Editor-in-Chief if they are aware of any copyright infringement and plagiarism;
  • Reviews should be conducted objectively, and observations should be formulated clearly with supporting arguments;
  • Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
